A good product, but ... It is simple to configure, edit the DNS domain configuration and ready. It is easy to configure Apache server.
Personally I do not like error messages when the source server is not available, you think that if you use this service if the server does not run the website will continue to operate. I know this is not true but I know people who have bought this service thinking that this was happening.
On a server with many visitors we thought it was the solution. Allowed to increase performance and decrease CPU utilization.
It provides great security features to avert different attacks on the server. It provided great firewall against hackers.
It's cost is a concern for me. Also, little tricky in some cases to implement
I had multiple servers hosted on one machine which where required to protect from DDos attacks and other security threats. It helped me do it quite well.
great hosting and great support. we cannot go without this software for hosting our website. there is a good free plan and has lots of features. performance is better than most other software. dont have to choose specific content to cache or edit site code.
expensive. price is higher than other options but performance is better so it is worth it.
we use for CDN and hosting.
Cloudfare DNS is pretty easy to set up with existing ISP. It adds a layer of encryption so it's more difficult for the ISP to see the data that's being sent to view websites. 1.1.1.1 does not mine any user data. Logs are kept for 24 hours for debugging purposes, then they are purged.
This is a relatively difficult concept for some people to understand and it also leaves the trust to cloudfare that their encryption is working as intended and there's no bugs in their code. The terms of service can always change
Encrypting data between client and ISP. The main reasons to switch to a third-party DNS resolver are security and performance. ISPs do not always use strong encryption on their DNS or support DNSSEC, which makes their DNS queries vulnerable to data breaches and exposes users to threats like man-in-the-middle attacks.
Protects my website effectively, and has even taken care of SSL issues I have had with my services just by switching. It really has boosted my websites performance and once it is set up, there isn't much else needed. They also provide a very nice WordPress plugin to make things work even easier.
While the nature of using a CDN (DNS etc) service is inherently complicated, the user interface for management and setup needs a lot of work. Because of the way it is laid out, it is very easy to get lost.
Protecting my website from attacks and improving performance for my customers accessing my website.
The free tier is great, I've used it and a number of others have as well with good success.
The configuration for SSL isn't very straight forward, took a while to figure out. Also sometimes cache expiration can be hard to get configured correctly and test.
Website performance, security
Accessibility, possibility of sharing contents among team equivalents
Need few improvements according to documentation and manuals
Team task development has been easier, improving time-to-rollout
Ok for smaller businesses needing access to their servers. Doesn't do the job for medium to large sized businesses yet. But they appear to be heading in the right direction.
Ok for access to specific services from external but doesn't do the job for allowing access and authenticating into a corporate network.
Access to specific servers through ssh from external to internal network.
Good customer support and easy to use dashboards and reporting.
Integration with Drupal is spotty. Site cache-ing is cumbersome. Site speed hasn't caught up yet.
Faster site, WAF.
Quality product for premium customers. Probably one of the best out there that offers a freemium model.
Less efforts to make it faster in rural areas. Its just in comparison to amazon, I actually have seen sites down and the error message of cloudfare. Something like 500 internal server error.
I work at an education startup, even though we recently switched to amazon cloud services - I have personally used cloudfare for my own blogs and websites.
It has a lot of features and provides all the essential content delivery network services
Two major DDOS attacks occurred. Working at a financial institution, this is a huge problem in terms of security
Using cloudflare to provide the network infrastructure to delivery our webpages to clients

Cloudflare has similar features to other CDN providers. They try to package it better, but their main focus is on marketing and sales, not proving good service. They are constantly pushing their different features and trying to upsell stuff.
Cloudflare does not provide any support! Even for paying customers like me, there is no way to contact support other than email. Following the advice of the sales team, the only people one can talk to, I submitted a support ticket. I never heard back from them. After more than 12 hours and 3 more calls to the sales team trying to connect to someone who can help resolve the issue, I have switched to AWS Route53. I still don't know what happened and how my account was hacked, but one thing I know now is that Cloudflare does not provide any support and the button "Under Attack?" on their homepage is a joke.
I have not realized and specific benefits with the Cloudflare CDN. Other providers provide the same features, but are better in supporting their customers.
- Innovative product but competition offered the same for lower price - When I stopped using cloudflare products
- Bad user interface - Complicated pricing and billing - My website got attacked and customer support did not really help me out
No benefits realized with Cloudflare CDN
Back end functionality Good - Simple to use and set up
"Cloudflare is a system used for boosting page load speeds, this provided some limited speed improvements when checked with Google Page speed checker. However it has many downsides including IP and functionality issues, so this may suite a basic single page non interaction site. However I would warn against any other types of site using as any minimal improvements are massively outweighed by the issues. Also Cancelling is almost impossible and Cloudflare try to avoid at all costs - So Beware. Think twice before using due to potential issues also Easy to Sign Up - Difficult to Leave" Customer Support Non Existant!
Tried to increase website speed.
