The REST aspects of the API are solid. It's easy to get started with existing REST experience.
It's hard to navigate the documentation. There are many domains findable by search engines, and it's not always obvious which ones are up to date.
Kentico allows us to integrate data from our own existing API with content entered by a user in the Kentico UI. This gives us the flexibility to decouple sites from both APIs.
interface and simplicity of setting up Kentico cloud
the pricing is too high, not suficient functionality in Kentico cloud
easy integration for our clients, it's easy to educate clients how to use the system
The UI of the editor is very flexible, allowing me to do almost anything I need.
I wish I could manage images and assets better
I can now manage the content on my site without contacting my developer!
The simple, clean and straight forward user interface.
Functionalities are too basic especially for enterprise usage, eg. lacking of audit trails, CD for content type and taxonomy, debugging logs of API etc.
The concept of ability to segregate content from delivery channels so content efforts can actually be expedited and not dependent on the tech.
The Headless API, content management flow, and ease of use. I like the way it allowed me to manage the content we would be utilizing for the solutions that we build.
Not a whole lot that I dislike. I felt like the product was fairly robust and easy to use. I would recommend this to clients that we work with.
We were exploring CMS's with Headless APIs for a solution.
Versatility and ease of use are the most important advantages of Kentico Cloud. It is very important for us to have a platform that users from different countries can use easily and also localize content. Users can input content and collaborate easily and manage the content from anywehere. You can set up pages easily. For example, It is a complete all-in-one solution that can help your business. Setting engaging content for customers can be created easily.
The platform is easy but it could take some improvements. Also, you need to adapt to the platform philosophy that makes you input all the content first before creating any page/event. For example when creating an event you should provide everything regarding the event from images to short and long description and headlines, speakers, agenda etc. Which some times it is not easy to do...
Due to the cloud technology a team can work simultaneously on a project from anywhere. The platform can be used from users from different countries that need to collaborate fast.
The flexibility and possibilities. You can do so much with the product if you have the imagination. The ability to create granular content templates ensures consistency and helps writers focus on the research and words. Re-use of modular components supports single sourcing. Support is excellent and responsive.
We're wondering about scalability. The UI becomes cluttered very quickly when you have a number of pages that each have related resources. Filtering goes some of the way to helping with that but it doesn't show you anything that's mis-tagged. We're looking at using separate projects for different subject matter but how would we pull them together? Taxonomies for nested site maps rapidly become very cumbersome .
We're still in PoC, but we're seeing the way Kentico Cloud can help us to train our writers to produce more consistent content. The ability to single source and have other areas use that content in their workflows would help with information accuracy and consequently, brand trust.
Support is 24 hours. Live online which is great
It’s a little expensive which i my opinion
Easy and user friendly
It accessible and easy for everyone to use
Some employees have voiced their complaints
Improves website
It's straightforward to use. You can easily duplicate landing pages and use different languages.
Sometimes you need to use the back office to elaborate on a page.
We are giving information regarding our company in multiple languages. It helps us to optimize our branding.
Headless structure, plenty of documentation, and open-source SDKs were what made us a customer. Furthermore, the support was more than decent and was very helpful. Web spotlight is also quite helpful for end-users to understand what they're editing.
Some generic parts like sitemap generation/cache invalidation could have a ready-made product/example. Model validation is also lacking, things like json-schema validation would be great; it would be great if you could validate across fields (if x is set, do y). Links to external resources (json api's) require custom elements, would be nice if there was a ready made element.
No real problems more like challenges which require work on our end which we would gladly hand over to Kentico (sitemap generation, page invalidation logic, external api linkages)
The DRY property from programming is being implemented in Kentico.
The migration itself of all of the articles - this needs a better process with more guidance.
Not there yet.
New interface, new UI I think it is easy usable by non technical people
Some features where now hidden on certain places I was used to
Headless really gives us an advantage using mobile
the menu is easy to understand and operate
no reply from the interface level about whether the content is delivered successfully. Need check the back-end related system.
I met another issue about reset the password. Some mail was blocked and the workaround is very slow
Content was well organized. It was relatively easy to find what i needed to find.
Going back and forth from one piece of content to another was clumsy.
Building a new website and content creation is happening in multiple places. It was a good way to see and share all of the work.
No need to take care of a server!!! No need of manual updates or hotfixes. Content editor offers advanced services such as content suggestions, comments, inserting nested documents and objects. Colaboration in team is in high level. Content versioning and diffs between versions are great. Like in Google drive documents REST api is great and available in all languages. Kentico cloud gives mi a freedom of used technology (for me javascript). Kentico offers sample projects written in modern languages like react, vue.js...
Kentico cloud is a pretty new products. I miss some functions like translation of taxonomy; settings to allow indexing of requests for crawlers when javascript api is in use. Also assets has no advanced management interface. The cheapest paid package is very expensive (for Czech customers)
I realized educational web with content editors from muzeum. They don't want to learn new complex CMS. Kentico cloud is pretty easy to learn.
That you can easily adapt your website even though you know nothing of CMS systems.
Sometimes it's not really clear what the structure of your website looks like in Kentico.
Easier to use website with adaptible screens and functions.
Possibility to add individual help texts directly near the fields Huge range of templates for different content elements Use a content element on different pages
Having to type in an internal name for every content element Not able to publish a whole page with one click like in other CMSs Not able to crop an image directly in Kentico Cloud
Local marketing departments are able to maintain the local website themselves. That saves a lot of time compared to a centralized maintenance and avoides errors or missunderstandings.
I like the fact that the design of Kontent by Kentico is so clear and easy to navigate.
I dislike the pages within pages that need their own name. Sometime I lose the pages I am working on.
Kontent by Kentico is way quicker, and modern than what I am used to. It offers many more possibilities.
Nice UI Flexibility with organizing data
Spotty performance API lacks some functionalities
Sharing content between different sites. Having one centralized place to keep business data. Save costs when translating content.
